Policies
Understanding the practice policies regarding insurance and financial options is crucial for patients seeking dental care. Our office is committed to making dental care accessible by navigating dental insurance intricacies, offering various payment options, and assisting you with any questions regarding financial policies or financing options to ensure a smooth and informed treatment process.
Insurance & Payment Options
We want treatment for TMJ disorders and therapeutic Botox to be as straightforward and accessible as possible. Because these services involve both dental and medical considerations, insurance coverage can vary — so here is what you can generally expect.
TMJ Treatment Coverage
Coverage for TMJ-related care depends on your specific plan. Some dental insurance policies cover portions of TMJ evaluation, occlusal splints, and related therapies, while others classify TMJ treatment under medical insurance. We recommend reviewing your benefit booklet or contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm what is included in your plan. As a courtesy, we will file dental insurance claims on your behalf and provide an estimate of your expected portion at the time of treatment. For your convenience, payment is collected at the time of treatment.
Botox for TMJ and Jaw Tension
Dental insurance does not typically cover therapeutic Botox, even when it is used to treat TMJ disorders, bruxism, or chronic jaw tension. In some cases, medical insurance may provide coverage when Botox is prescribed for a documented medical condition. We are happy to provide the documentation you need to submit a claim to your medical insurance carrier, including treatment notes and relevant procedure information.
Financial Policy
For your convenience, we accept payments made with cash, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We also offer financing through CareCredit®.
If you have any questions about our financial policies, what your insurance may cover, or how to plan for the cost of your treatment, please call our office. We are happy to walk you through your options so you can move forward with confidence.
